Oh no, we are at it again!

It started with a phone call, as it so often does.  "Hi Jim, it's Richard." yak yak yak "So. What stupid run are we going to do this year?". Jim, it seems has always hankered after doing LE-JOG or 'end to end' run from Land's End to John O'Groats and I'm up for any kind of long distance lunacy so that's what we're considering.

"WHAT?" I hear you cry, "a straight 875 mile run on big roads? That's not a challenge!" and you'd be right. We're looking at Glasgow - JOG - LE - JOG - Glasgow in 2 days.  This will do the LE-JOG twice, 1000 miles in 24 hours, 1500 miles in 36 hours and 2000 miles in 48 hours. Phew! This is NOT a fundraiser, just to satisfy our craving for ticking boxes.

Or maybe we won't ..... riding Scotland's back roads is so much fun maybe we'll just do that for 2 days!

So to the plan:

Leaving Glasgow at 5am we would get to John O'Groats by about 10.30am for a quick photo then on to our overnight stop near Land's End at 10pm or so.  Leaving as early the next morning we'd get to Land's End about 7.30am, to John O'Groats again at 10pm then home for 3.30am.

Distance approx running time (hrs)
1 GLA to JOG 296 5.25
2 JOG to Overnight stop 700 11.16
996 16.41
3 Overnight stop to LE 139 2.25
4 LE to JOG 839 13.50
5 JOG to GLA 296 5.25
1274 21.00
grand total 2270.00 37.41
