Lewis' lap
A close family friend, aged just 10 at the time, has recently been diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy after suffering a heart attack in his living room. Luckily his mum was there to resusitate him and paramedics were able keep him alive until he reached hospital where his family had an agonising wait to see if he would survive. After a courageous battle from Lewis and a lengthy stay in hospital he is now back at home, with an immediate future of operations, hospital visits and home schooling. His spirit, though, is alive and well, and when his tracheotomy is removed he will no doubt make up for the months of no speech!
I would really like to help Gary Burns' son Lewis and others like him as life will, quite literally never be the same again. I have organised a fundraising challenge as detailed on the attached sponsor sheet and would appreciate any contribution. We intend to make a small donation directly to Lewis Burns and send some money to www.cardiomyopathy.org.
Please Dig Deep
Either print the form and add names to it. 1p per mile( IF WE MAKE IT!) will give £11 to the fund or please pledge money in a donation to be collected after the event.
All monies will go to the fund as the teams are paying all expenses.
We have two teams ready BUT have 1 space for a co driver Replies please to Jim@harleysridertraining.com.From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia
Cardiomyopathy, which literally means "heart muscle disease," is the deterioration of the function of the myocardium (i.e., the actual heart muscle) for any reason. People with cardiomyopathy are often at risk of arrhythmia or sudden cardiac death or both.[1]
